

Brother Valentino Bianco, C.F.A. was born September 19, 1923 in Conneaut, OH to the late Frank and Judith (nee Petrocelli) White and passed away July 29, 2013 at the Sherbrooke Village Care Center in St. Louis, MO. Brother Valentino joined the Alexian Brothers at Signal Mountain, TN on September 8, 1939 and was the youngest postulant ever accepted by the Congregation of Alexian Brothers and has been an Alexian Brother for almost 74 years. After profession, he was responsible for setting up Central Service for seven years in several facilities, but his propensity for art overwhelmed his other talents. Soon he was doing space and interior design in facilities of the Alexian Brothers across the country. A Brother of boundless energy, Brother Valentino was a teacher as well as an artist and he taught art and singing in parochial schools in San Jose, CA. He served as Community Director in Elk Grove Village and previously served as Assistant Community Director both in San Jose, CA and Elk Grove Village. Brother Val helped renovate the oncology units at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village, St. Alexius Medical Center and the Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, both in Hoffman Estates. He was also involved in different aspects of designing all of the Alexian Brothers facilities until his health no longer permitted in 2012. Brother Val is survived by his sisters, Sister Theresa White, HM of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Louise (White) Buckley of Ashtabula, OH; nieces Cathy (Rich) Loomis of Conneaut, OH, Sister Therese Ann Rich, OSU of Canfield, OH, Christine (Buckley) Bodine and Doreen (Buckley) Barlow both of Ashtabula, OH, Sandy (White) Simpson of Jacksonville, FL, Bonnie (White) Harris of Daniels Island, South Carolina, Judy (White) Kirkbaumer of Fairlawn, OH; nephews, John White of Fairlawn, OH, Paul Rich of Walton Hills, OH, Randy Loomis of Conneaut, OH, great nephew Jason Loomis of Conneaut, OH and sister in law, Charlotte White of Conneaut, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles, Anthony and Joseph White and his sister Catherine (White) Rich. Visitation will be held Friday August 2, 2013 from 6-8 PM at the Alexian Brothers Medical Center Chapel 800 W. Biesterfield Road Elk Grove Village. A funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday Aug. 3, 2013 at St. Julian Eymard Church 601 W. Biesterfield Road Elk Grove Village at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
