

William ‘Bill’ Anetsberger, age 86 of Des Plaines, Illinois passed away July 31st, 2023 in the comfort of his home following a brief illness. Born July 26,1937 in Chicago, Bill was the eldest of three children born to William Anetsberger and Anna (nee Schoor) Anetsberger. He married his soulmate Joan in 1959 and they fully enjoyed 63 years together. He proudly served in the US Army from 1961 through 1963.
Bill was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows and cruise-ins with his wife Joan. He loved driving his prize-winning show cars including a 1962 blue Impala and his favorite 1956 yellow and black Bel-Air. He was also a huge racing fan and loved anything with a motor.
The bulk of his career was spent at Universal Oil Products/Allied Signal/Honeywell. He started as a machinist in 1968. He later became the supervisor of both the machine shop and the welding shop until he retired in 1990. He was very much a perfectionist, and his favorite saying was, “Do you want it done fast, or do you want it done right?”
He is preceded in death by his parents and younger sister, Diane Eslick. He is survived by and will be dearly missed by his wife Joan, sister Cathy (Bob) Sample, daughter Maureen (Steve) Franz, son Jeff (Laura), and grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer, Ryan, Nicole, and Kyle.
Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Bill that will be held on August 27th, 2023 from 1pm - 5pm at Lauterburg-Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 East Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
