William A. Benson

William A. Benson was born November 20, 1939 in Oak Park, Illinois to Alden and Elsynore (nee Haenel) Benson. William passed away peacefully Thursday May 5, 2022 at home while in Hospice.

William worked as a Diesel Mechanic for over 60 Years. Every one knew “Bill” could fix anything that had an engine. Race Cars, Boats, Diesels, he was your man!

His Joys were fishing! (Oh, and Reeses Peanut butter cups!)

Bill always loved to make everyone laugh. He loved to tell jokes, say limericks, just anything to turn your frown upside down. Bill had a huge heart for Animals. He was a big supporter for the ASPCA, as well as for the young children of the St. Joseph’s Indian School.

His greatest love of all, was his 5 women in his life. We miss him every day.

William is survived by his daughters Victoria (late Mark) Spirek, Kimberly Olney and Lori (James) Wood; his grandchildren Mark, Tony, Andrew, Nick, Christina, Alec and Daniel : his great- grandson Elliott: as well as his Brother Gary (Cheryl) Benson .

As well as many loved ones, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his Loving wife of 59 years Carol J. (nee Jaramski) Benson; his Beautiful daughter Deborah Benson as well as his parents.

Memorial Visitation Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 9:00 am until time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 am at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
