William James Giachetti (“Bill”), of Rolling Meadows, IL, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and quiet strength. He was predeceased by his loving parents, William and Lucille Giachetti, and his dear sister, Janice (Glenn) Ringling.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Linda (née Cortina), and their three sons: Michael “Mike” (Theresa), Anthony “Tony,” and Jason. He was a proud grandfather to Jordan, Kelsey, Nicholas, Jacob, and Noah. He is also survived by his cherished sisters, Judy (the late Carl) Hasterock and Mary (Chris) Schofield.
Raised in Gillespie, Illinois, Bill carried the values of his small-town upbringing. He attended Bradley University and after graduation moved to the Chicagoland area to begin his professional career. He and Linda settled in Rolling Meadows, IL where they built a home and raised their family over the course of more than 50 years.
Bill worked as a bank examiner for the State of Illinois for nearly four decades, serving with integrity and diligence until his retirement in 2003. Outside of work, he was a devoted husband and father who found great joy in supporting his sons, especially from the sidelines or as a coach at their various sporting events.
He was immensely proud of his children’s accomplishments and worked hard so he could pay for their college education. He never missed a chance to remind them, often with a smile.
