William Linden Hutchings

Of Wheeling

William Linden Hutchings was born on October 10, 1943 in Evanston, Illinois to Glenn and Marjorie (nee Stockbridge) Hutchings. He died Monday, March 19, 2018 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

William graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor’s Degree of Architecture. He worked as an architect at the University of Illinois Chicago and was Associate Director of Project Management.

William loved traveling, camping, nature, and home projects. He enjoyed lunch with his buddies, the Chicago sports teams, architecture, and most of all - his wife, children, grandchildren, and his pets. William cherished watching his kids perform and compete in sports events, races, and concerts.

He is survived by his loving spouse of 38 years, Janet (nee Heroux); his daughter-in-law Wendi; his sons Shawn (Emily Garcia), Joseph (Amanda), and Daniel (Valerie); his grandchildren Vada Rose and Carter Eric; his sister Nancy (George) Liska.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Eric; and his brother Leslie (Joyce).

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 25, 2018, from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks South of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, Illinois, and Monday, March 26, 2018 from 9:00 am until time of funeral service at 10:00 am. Burial at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart and Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601.
