William M. Ostrominski

William Michael Ostrominski, 86, of Mt. Prospect, IL, died January 22, 2016, with his loving wife by his side. Several of William’s family members were able to spend time with him in the days preceding his death. He was born October 25, 1929, in Detroit, MI to the late Helen (Hoydic) of Arcadia, PA and the late William C. Ostrominski of Detroit, MI. He was named after his father. William graduated from Denby High School, Detroit, MI, and attended Wayne State University. He served in the Army at Ft. Story, VA from 1951 - 1953. William began his career working for the Singer Sewing Company in Detroit Michigan, followed by AM International in Cleveland, Ohio, later in Chicago Illinois and then in Pittsburgh PA before returning to the company in Chicago in 1984. William retired in 2005 and was an avid reader, golfer, and lover of the arts. William was the beloved husband of Barbara (nee Baldwin) Ostrominski and the late Lillian Ostrominski who passed away September 7, 1981; loving father of Diane (William) Dodd, Kerry Ostrominski, Becky Jarold and Todd (Sarah) Ostrominski; cherished grandfather of Lindsay McGuire, Will Dodd, Alexandra Dodd Huzl, Lillian Jarold, Mae Ostrominski, John Ostrominski and Ben Ostrominski and great-grandfather of Layla McGuire and Hunter McGuire; dear brother of Col. John (Marilyn) Ostrominski and fond uncle of Janet Prince and Debra Harto; dear brother-in-law of Kathryn (SFC RET Toby) Patterson and devoted son-in-law of Harriet Baldwin. Barbara will forever miss her sweet William. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 1:00 PM until time of memorial service 3:00 PM at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to The First Tee (www.thefirsttee.org) or the American Heart Association (www.donatenow.heart.org) would be most appreciated.
