He died August 2, 2016 at his home in Arlington Heights.William is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Elaine (nee Danhoffer) Scheffler; loving father of Gail (Albert) Madden, Mary Beth (Gary) Balas, Brian (Terri) Scheffler, David (Mary) Scheffler, John (Jeannine) Scheffler and JoAnn (Rick) Kimbel; his cherished 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.William is preceded in death by his sister Adeline (late Gene) Boroviak; his brother in law Gene (Alice) Danhoffer; his granddaughter Lauren Scheffler; his brother in law Wayne Danhoffer and by his parents.Visitation Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 10:00 AM until time of funeral mass at 11:00 AM at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N.
