Zerlina M. Glassmann (nee Metzler) was born on September 2, 1926 in Flaxville, MT to Frank and Olga (nee Odden) Metzler. She died Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Friendship Village in Schaumburg.
She worked as a Paraprofessional at Glenbrook South High School.
She was President of the Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois, PTA President in Glenview, and a member of the League of Women Voters.
Her interests and/or hobbies included collecting dolls, collecting plates, traveling and she loved to square dance.
Zerlina is survived by her children Linda (Frank) Fenneman, Christine (Jerry) Decker, Patricia (Thomas) Woods, Laura (Bruce) Megleo and Raymond (Cheryl) Glassmann; her Grandchildren Todd Fenneman, Lisa Miller, Tamara (Gerald) Gutierrez, Jody (Nick) Mahaney, Sarah (John) Friedman, Derrick (Laura) Decker, Ryan Decker, Megan Decker, Cody (Stephanie) Decker, Jeremy (JaLinda) Woods, Emily Rae (Randolph) Woods, Erin (Dan) Woods, Elsa Woods, Kelly (Ryan) Pfeiffer, Michael (Shauna) Megleo, Lindsey (Mike) Alesch, Jessie (Frankie) Mershon, Daniel (Kristen) Megleo, Lucas Megleo, Taylor Anne Glassmann, Alexa Rae Glassmann and Raymond Riley Glassmann; her Great-Grandchildren Josie Fenneman, Nicole Miller, Hanna Miller, Noah Miller, Isabella Gutierrez, Maxwell Gutierrez, Sophia Gutierrez, Colin Friedman, Annabell Mahaney, Owen Mahaney, Gavin Mahaney, Ken Sansonetti, Carlos Garcia, Kaydence Hammers, Charlotte Decker, Elliot Perkins, Sage Shingler, Chloe Mershon, Addison Pfeiffer, Logan Alesch, Edie Megleo, Connor Pfeiffer, Franklin Mershon and Oliver Megleo; her sisters Ruth (Late Louis “Gigi”) Giovannetti and Norma (Roger) Newman; she was also survived my many nieces and nephews from both the Glassmann as well as the Metzler families.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Glassmann, her parents, her brother Franklin James “Jim” (Late Mary) Metzler, her sister Dorothy (Fred) Gilbertsen, and her grandson Timothy Paul Fenneman.
Visitation Sunday, September 23, 2108 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.) Arlington Heights, IL 60004 and Monday, September 24, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Service 10:30 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
