Audrey Fay Ruggeberg

Audrey F. Ruggeberg Audrey Fay Ruggeberg, age 87, of Arlington, TX, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4400 W. Arkansas Lane, Arlington, TX. She will be interred with her husband at DFW National Cemetery at 10:15 am, Thursday, February 9, 2023. Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd., Arlington. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation, the American Lung Association, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, or a charity of your choice. Audrey was born at home on September 3, 1935, in Eldridge, Iowa. She attended school in Grand Mound, Iowa, where she met and married Richard Ruggeberg on September 4, 1954. They raised their four children in Grand Mound, Iowa, before moving to Arlington, Texas. They celebrated 51 years of marriage before the death of Richard in 2005. Audrey was a public school secretary in Iowa and Arlington, Texas. She was a volunteer at Arlington Memorial Hospital for over 20 years. She was also an avid reader and crossword puzzle solver and enjoyed hosting family holidays. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, and siblings, Albert, Ronald, Nona, and Eunice. Those left to celebrate her life include sons, Craig (Linda), Neal (Dawn), Brian (Lynn) and daughter, Kristi Ruggeberg, nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; brother, David Hoeppner, sister-in-law Karen Pinter, brother-in-law Meryle Haack, along with extended family and friends. The family would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Highlands Village, Mansfield, Texas, for their compassionate care during her time there.
