

Funeral Service: 11 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2012 at Moore Funeral Home - Bowen Road Chapel, with Benjamin F. Davis, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
“Bae Bae” as Ben was affectionately known spent his formative years between Gosport and Mobile with his loving family. He passed on many fond memories of those days with Big Daddy, Gran, and all of his Davis and Ruggs extended families.
After graduating from Central High School in June, 1955, the upcoming September, Ben started his life adventure when he joined the United States Air Force. In 1956, Ben and the love of his life, Myrtle F. Hill were joined. Through his military career, he explored Korea, Ohio, Puerto Rico, New Hampshire, Viet Nam, Washington DC, Germany, New Mexico and Nebraska. After retiring in 1985, his zeal for excitement continued when he went to work for Lockheed Martin where he was located in Bahrain for 8 years.
Because Ben and Myrtle fell in love, the Davis heritage continues to grow and reaches across the world. He is survived by his loving wife Myrtle F. Davis; Four sons: Guy (Mona), Michael, Benjamin Jr. (Vicki), and Ronald Keith (Chantal), and one daughter: Linda Sullivan (William). Surviving siblings: Leslie, Alonzo Jr. (Bertha), Willie, Larry, Kenneth (Cynthia), Darrell (Vanessa), Barbara Golden (Gerald), Cheryl Hawthorne, Glenda Davis, Catherine Davis, and Meshia Redd (Kenneth). Also mourning his loss are 13 grandchildren, 8 great grand children, and a host of other relatives and friends.
