Betty Joyce Bevins

Betty Joyce Bevins, age 84 of Arlington, passed away on November 8, 2020 in Waco, Texas. She was born on August 16, 1936 in Shawanee, Tennessee, the daughter of William Corum and Effie Harmon Corum. Betty married Charles H. Bevins on October 13, 1956 and he preceded her in death on October 31, 2010.

Betty grew up in Tennessee, and lived in several places as her husband moved for work. Betty worked for Sanger-Harris and later retired from Foley’s Department Stores at the Parks Mall. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed bowling, playing volleyball, playing horseshoes, and bird watching. She was an Elvis Presley fan and loved to travel. Betty cherished the time she spend with her beloved family.

Betty is survived by her daughter Deborah Lynn Hernandez; sons Charles Douglas Bevins and William Michael Bevins and wife Carrie; grandchildren Joshua Ryan Hernandez, Caitlin Taylor Hernandez and husband Justin Byrd, Charles Kegan Bevins, Jacob Douglas Bevins, Camryn Rene Bevins, and Charles Michael Bevins. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles, two sisters, one stepsister, and three brothers.

Graveside services will be at 11:30am at Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to the Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
