"To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die."
Today, we mourn and celebrate the remarkable life of Mrs. Betty Koranteng Okan, a woman of extraordinary grace, warmth, and vibrant beauty, both inside and out.
A proud Old Achimotan (1963 Year Group) anchored in her strong Presbyterian faith and upbringing, Betty dedicated her career to enriching young minds as a devoted teacher. To everyone blessed enough to cross her path, she was a radiant, jovial, and welcoming presence—always wearing a warm, infectious smile. She was outgoing, a wonderful conversationalist, and an avid reader who cherished novels and found constant strength and comfort in the Scriptures.
Above all, family was Betty's core. She truly lived by the truth that caring is sharing, eagerly extending a helping hand to anyone in need without a second thought.
Betty lived life to its absolute fullest. She shared a lifetime of love with her sweetheart, Daniel Okan, and together they built a loving family, blessed with six wonderful children: Erica, Mitzi, Betsy, Lilian, Agnes, and Sammy, and embraced her sons-in-law, Kwaku and Frank. Her joy and warmth lives on through her six cherished grandchildren.
She leaves behind a legacy of deep devotion, generosity, and unwavering love. She will be sorely missed, but forever remembered and dearly loved.
May her gentle soul rest in perfect, eternal peace.
