Charles Wayne Jones

Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel. Interment: 9 a.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Charles Wayne Jones was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Eden, N.C. He retired Aug. 31, 1985, after serving 22 years in the U.S. Army. Charles relocated to Dallas-Fort Worth with his family in 1996. After working at Wal-Mart for over 10 years, he retired in 2006. He achieved his dream of becoming a published author with his book of short stories, "Childhood Adventures." He was a husband, father, grandfather and best friend.

Survivors: Loving wife of 27 years, Luisa; children, Steven Jones of Lewisville, Cynthia Walker of Eden, N.C., Shannon Amos of Anchorage, Alaska, Jeremy Radford of Arlington and Yvette Cowart of Arlington; 11 grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry Jones and Richard Jones, both of North Carolina.
