

Curtis Monroe Smith, of Arlington, passed away at home on July 30, 2026, surrounded by family. He was born on March 22, 1948, to Vernon and Ree Mae Smith, joining five sisters and a brother in Atoka, Oklahoma.
Childhood homes included Boys Ranch, Texas; Wichita Falls; and Odessa, where he graduated from Ector High School in 1966. He wed Cathy Martin in 1968 before deployment to the Navy. Post-training in Waukegan, Illinois, he served aboard the USS Fox, residing in Guam, then San Diego. The family returned to Odessa before moving to Arlington, where they made their permanent home. He attended UTA while working at Texas Instruments and later founded The Little TV Shoppes. He founded Shingles Roofing in 2011. His passions included family, friends, travel, music, softball, computers, pets, and a profound love of Jesus Christ.
Survivors: sons, Cory and husband, Brian Garrison, of Dallas, and Brandon, of Grapevine; daughter, Gina and husband, Jeff Burpee, of Farmersville; granddaughter, Emma, of Grapevine; brother, Ronnie, of Pampa; plus numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Service: Thursday, August 13, 2026, at 9:30 A.M. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd., Arlington, TX 76016.
Committal Service: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy., Dallas, TX 75211, at 11:00 A.M.
