May 11, 1944January 9, 2020

Daniel Lee Gahagan, beloved husband and father, passed away on January 9, 2020 surrounded by close family. He was born on May 11, 1944 in Plymouth, Wisconsin, the son of Lloyd Gahagan and Arlene Brassar Gahagan. Dan married Louise Eddleman and they celebrated 45 years of marriage together.

Dan grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin before joining the US Air Force. After his service, Dan became a salesman. He could sell anything, but finally found his work home at Mercury Communications in Dallas. He had recently retired after 29 years of service. Dan loved to tinker with many projects and cars, he was always doing something or helping someone. He took great joy in his beautiful backyard where he spent much of his off time. He built a large Koi pond for Louise and they would sit on the deck he built and enjoy coffee in the mornings. Dan was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church and was active in their scripture studies class. Dan’s greatest pride was that of his family, who will miss him greatly.

Dan is survived by his wife, Louise; children Hank Graham and wife Claire, Laura Wright and husband Brad, and Bryan Gahagan; grandchildren Colin Graham, Sean Graham and wife Emily, Duncan Wright, and Graham Wright, Tommy Graham, Emily Graham; sisters JoAnne Braun and Bette Gos and husband Chuck; brother-in-law Jim Vanderkin; lifelong friend Shellye Hayden; many nieces, nephews and friends. Dear Louise
Dan and I first met at Perrin AFB TX - our first base after tech school
We hit it off immediately and spent a lot of time together
That connection never ended and he remained one of the best friends I have ever had
I loved his great sense of humor and we had wonderful times together
He was a loyal friend and when we would meet after years apart- it was as though no time had passed- we just picked it up from there
Judy and I send our love and prayers- Paul Driver

Dear Louise,
I am Gayle Sanders, Judy Driver’s sister, from nearby Saginaw.
I want to tell you how sad I am to hear of Dan’s passing.
Although I hadn’t seen him since I was a teenager, he still held a very dear place in my heart. Since he and Paul were best friends, and Paul spent so much time at our house, it was only natural that Dan was there, sometimes. He was such a nice guy and we all thought highly of him.
If there is a local service, I plan to attend, and look forward to meeting you, as Judy and Paul say you are very special.
You and your family will remain in my prayers. God bless you-
