David spent most of his early years in Fayetteville, where he graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1975. He later attended the University of Arkansas and worked for Brown & Root. In 1982, he moved to Arlington, Texas, where he began working at Home Depot. It was there that he met his wife, Diana Riley, whom he married in 1988. Determined to further his career, David attended night school to obtain his surveying license and went on to work for the City of Arlington as a survey crew chief.
David had a deep love for traveling on his motorcycle, listening to country music, and spending time with his family—especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a devoted member of Pantego Christian Church in Arlington.
In a final act of generosity, and always thinking of others before himself, David chose to help those in need through donations to the LifeGift and UT Southwestern Eye Bank programs.
David was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Diana Moore; his parents, James and Janita Moore; and his niece, Lauren Millican.
He is survived by his sister, Pam (Scott) Millican; his stepsons, Chris Riley and Shaun (Janie) Riley; his grandchildren, Ethan Riley, Victoria (Logan) Rocha, Anastasia (Ryan) Henson, Kalel Riley, Carson Riley, and Jameson Riley; his nephew, Ryan (Amy) Tharp; his niece, Hilary Millican; and numerous great-grandchildren, as well as great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4215 S. Bowen Rd, Arlington, TX 76016.
