Delmore Louis Stasny

He was born on the 17th day of March, 1933 in Taylor, TX to Louis and Vlasta Stasny. Delmore, best known as D.L., attended school in Manor, TX while working on his parent’s farm prior to entering the USAF at the age of 18. D.L. was stationed in South Korea during the Korean War. D.L. married Janie K. Cervenka on the 11th of September, 1953 and they lived together happily for the next 59 years. D.L. retired from Spillar Welding in 1998 after 41 years as a welder.

D.L. is survived by his loving wife Janie; sister Demetra Schiller and husband Gilbert, brother Johnny Stasny and wife Bennie; children Diana Garza and husband Gary; Dale Stasny and wife Candy; Ken Stasny and wife Nita; Marvin Stasny and wife Martha (Charlie); 11 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on the 11th day of February 2012 at 3:30pm, at the Taylor Brethren Church, 710 Sloan St. in Taylor, TX, Reverend James D. Hejl officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Delmore Stasny’s name to the Taylor Brethren Church in Taylor, TX. Please join us in remembrance of a loving and faithful husband, strong father, endearing grandfather and great-grandfather.
