

Desiree Renee Bowden-Ward passed away on November 4, 2024 at the age of 48 in her home surrounded by her family. Desiree was born on October 24, 1976 to Joe Bowden and Noilene Bowden in Grand Prairie, Texas. The Bowden family moved to Roaring Springs, Texas where Desiree graduated from Motley County High School in 1995.
After falling in love, Desiree married Sam Ward in 2006. They continued to act like love stuck teenagers until his death in 2016. They shared many adventures together and loved to travel spending a portion of their lives living in Colorado, Hawaii, and in multiple cities in Texas. When they eventually decided to settle, Pantego, Texas became their home. Desiree was the happiest being a mother to their son, Sabatian Ward and daughter, Elysee Ward.
Desiree was an avid learner with incredible observation skills. She attended the University of Texas at Arlington where she focused on Linguistics’ narrowing on French. She was well traveled and enjoyed multiple trips to Europe for education.
Desiree was a master of pop culture trivia. Her conversations with family and friends are cherished memories that highlighted her unique sense of humor. Recently her family celebrated her 48th birthday together sharing love, laughter, throw back 80’s music, and good food! The conversations and the quality time spent with Desiree will be precious memories that will last forever.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Ward; and father, Joe Bowden.
Desiree will be missed by her son, Sabastian Ward; daughter, Elysee Ward; mother, Noilene (Bowden) Sehlhoff; stepfather, Peter Sehlhoff; brother, Joe Bowden Jr.; sister, Lavenia Higdon; brother, Lawrence Bowden; sister, Ethanie Bowden; nephew, Aaron Hurley; nephew, Jeremiah Wilhelm; niece, Braelynn Higdon; niece, AnnaBella Vess; and nephew, Ethan Alcala.
A visitation for Desiree will be held November 16, 2024 at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, Texas 76016 from 1pm-5pm. Per Desiree’s wishes she will be cremated. Her children have future plans for an ash-scattering ceremony in Hawaii for both of their parents.
