Edward John Java, age 72 of Arlington, passed away on October 21, 2020 after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born on April 23, 1948 in Elizabethtown, New York, the son of George Java and Anita Snide Java.
Ed was raised in upstate New York with a tight knit family and many friends. Shortly after high school, he joined the U.S Air Force and was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, where he married and his daughter was born. Following his service, Ed attended Midwestern State University and received his B.S. in Economics and worked for Beacon International for many years. Later Ed worked for Horace Mann and lived in California, Illinois, North Carolina, and eventually retired in Texas to be close to his daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters. Ed was an avid golfer and loved to travel and spend time with his family. He recently had a part-time job working at the AT&T Stadium as a tour guide where his humor, wit, and warmth made him a favorite. Ed never met a stranger.
Ed is survived by his daughter Karie Ponder and husband Rex, grandchildren Natalie and Julia Ponder; brother George Java and wife Linda of Casselberry, FL; sister Gloria Mack and husband George of Pasadena, CA; sister Fran Wykes and husband Dave of Naples, FL; brother William Java and Fiancée Amy Demarais of Port Henry, NY; and many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
Ed was loved and will be missed deeply by all.
