Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Tate Springs Baptist Church in Arlington, where she was a member for 25 years. Interment: 11 a.m. Saturday in Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton, Fla. Visitation: Will start at 10 a.m. Thursday.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in her name to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, the American Cancer Society, the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering or a charity of choice.
Elizabeth "Betty" was born Nov. 2, 1931, in St. Louis, Mo., to Sterling and Laura Higbee Smith. She was preceded in the death by her husband, Robert E. Alday, whom she was married to for almost 50 years; and her first husband, Carl Miller, whom she was married to for two years.
Survivors: Her adopted brother, Kenneth DeHeer of San Antonio; sons, George Randall Miller of Arlington, Carl Miller Jr. of the Philippines and Robert E. Alday Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one nephew; one niece; and two great-nieces.
