Gary Kenneth Owens

Gary was born in Lockport, New York on November 6, 1937, and was the son of the late Edward W. Owens and Mildred J. Weed. Mildred later divorced Edward and married James Weed. After WWII, the family moved to Fairview, Pennsylvania where Gary grew up. He graduated from Technical High School in June of 1958 and received a certificate in pattern making.

He married the love of his life, Patricia, in December 1959. Together they shared 59 years of marriage before her passing. They raised 6 children together and built a life filled with faith, family and love.

Gary’s work life was varied and hardworking-he worked many fields including steel work, security, and machinist but his passion was carpentry. He was a skilled craftsman and painter, admired for his expertise, creativity and willingness to share his knowledge. For more than 20 years, Gary made Fort Worth his home, where he became a devoted neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer advice.

A man of deep faith, Gary was well known for his devotion to prayer and his eagerness to share his love of the Lord Jesus Christ with others. He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and was also a long-time beloved member of an online bible study group from Cross Roads Church in North Carolina.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother, Edward D. Owens, his beloved wife of 59 years, Patricia L. Owens, and his daughter, Carol A. Kirkpatrick.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon Beals and her husband James; his children, Gary K. Owens, Jr. (Angela), Deborah Swenson (Bradley), Patricia Bianchini (Frank), Janice Armentrout, and Mark Owens (Elaine). He also leaves behind his 15-grandchildren, Heather Swenson, Caitlin Gardetto, Eric Swenson, Michael Bianchini, Mathew Bianchini, Kiersten Fenner, Krystal Owens, Hunter Owens, Michelle Owens, Daniel Owens, Meghan Grodek, Stayce Clemmer, Zack Kirkpatrick, Cassaundra Chouhan and Myriah Owens, along with his 12 great grand-children, Haley, Connor, Dominic, Austin, Aurora, Zander, Zachary, Elyze, Liam, Sarah, Madison and Logan.
