Hayden was a wonderful man and great person who took care of horses.

Hey Grandpa, Its been almost 2 months now since we said "goodbye". I just wanted you to know that there isnt a day that goes by that i dont think about you and all the great times we had together. Im so very thankful for all the things you taught me, I'll never forget when you told me (on multiple occasions) "I may have taught you everything you know but I havent taught you everything I know."  I do know this, I have always looked up to you and you never let me down. I hope everything i do in life will make you proud, I find myself asking everyday "would grandpa like this" or "what would grandpa do" I love you and miss you!!! THANK YOU  for everything and im honored to be able to say you were MY Grandpa!

We all leave a little of ourselves in everyone we meet. No matter how long life is, there is a piece of our past and a piece of our future. Hayden will live on in the lives of many, those he knew and those he touched through others.

I haven't seen Hayden in many years, but have always remembered him with great fondness. He started early being a good guy. We went to school together and he was always very nice even though I was the class misfit. May God be with all of you, Ardath,as your family are in my prayers.

I just wanted to say to Brian Templeton that I didn't know your dad but he worked with my husband as an Arlington firefighter and my husband was at the funeral and said you were a delite to listen to and a very loving son.     One of the mightiest men I know is only 5 foot 7. He's a short, feisty, “can't get any better than him” cowboy. He used to match my dad plateful for plateful at holiday meals. They were the Long and the Short of it with their full plates and 5 desserts each. He was a firefighter until he retired and he's traded more horses and cars in his lifetime than most people could count.

    He saved my brother's life when David was about 9, he taught me (and my kids) to ride and when I was so mad at my dad that I could barely stand it he blessed me by agreeing to do something he didn't want to do and then helped me release my anger and show me why neither of us should do the thing he'd agreed to.

     I've known him since I was a baby, he was my favorite uncle and I'm gonna miss him.

I meet Grandpa when I was around 16 years old. I started cleaning and feeding his animals for exchange for riding lesson. I have had two horses since I meets hayden. One I bought from hayden ,another he drove me around to find. He was always willing to help me and anyone anyway he could. He also was there for me when my father passed away . i will miss him soooo much but I will remember all the wonderful fun times we had at the barn,trail riding, doing petting zoos , and just talking. I have to boys of my own now and I hope to let them experiance some of what hayden showed me during the  time I spent with him.

When I first met Hayden well known to me and tons of other people as Grandpa his exact words were " call me grandpa, everyone does!" I was hesitant to do so at first but by my third lesson I knew I found my passion and my very bestfriend. From working jobs with grandpa to just going to eat because I was by him and he didn't want to go alone...to learning everything I know today from one amazing cowboy.  I was only blessed about 3 years with grandpa but I swear it felt like he'd been with me my whole life. I told him everything..from how my day went to my latest silly highschool drama...grandpa always knew what to say...whether it was " you don't need those hairy legged boys, you only need your grandpa" or even just joking around to make me laugh which he was good at. He has tons of sayings ill remember and use forever.  I really did come to love grandpa with all my heart he meant the world to me he gave me the confidence not a lot of highschool girls have . I know he would want me to be strong right now and he would want me to be out at the barn doin what he taught me and keeping things in order when no one else is. I know I can count on my amazing barn family to be there and of course the horse grandpa chose for me, Baby Sis. Ill miss him as will everyone who grandpa touched. I know he changed my life forever and for that I thank god he put him in my life.

One day I stopped at a garage sale and met a lovely man and his daughter. I saw the barn,horses etc... I had given my daughter a choice dog agility training or horseback riding she choose horse back riding. As I was leaving I decided to turn around and ask the beautiful young lady sitting at the table if she knew of a good person to give horseback riding lessons she said "sure do he is sitting right here the best in Texas!" That is how Hayden,Grandpa came into our lives. From the first lesson... To hearing "make her do it"....  "Get mean".... to the call when he said you may not be ready for this but I got the perfect Horse for your daughter...too I told you she would get mean...to what da think about our girl out there as she just rode the barrels....What am I going to do PINK!!!...to how proud he was of his cowgirl!... The "Barn family" have become Chloe's 2nd family everyone out there has a heart of gold.I guess that is because they also came accross the best horse person in Texas too!  
Hayden has made Chloe the person she is today he formed her very being and helped her find her passion and an inner peace of who she is! Hayden,Grandpa will be missed by so many he had the gift of love! He will always be in our hearts!Now it is up to us left behind to follow in his footsteps and be there for each other.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

My relationship with Hayden began when my son turned 4. Eight years later, I still enjoyed his company. We planned for him to begin teaching my youngest daughter horseback riding once his knee healed. In true cowboy fashion, he always welcomed us at the farm, helped with school events, trusting me "rent" a pig or goat when needed. He made a unique impact in our community and will be missed greatly. My heart is with his friends and family during such a sad time of loss. May God give you comfort and strength.

To the Templeton family I will be remembering you in the following days and praying for God's grace.  I was just telling my husband last week of "Mr. Templeton" that sold me my 1st horse Koly some 51 years ago.  My mother was a single parent and because I had lost my Dad at age 12, she was on her own to raise 3 kids.  Hayden was so great in showing us what a new horse owner needed and went out of his way to help a widow and her distraught daugher of 12.  I pray that you will find comfort that we know his Savior is now taking care of him and more than likely will be saddling up some of our heavenly horses!

I'm a 11 year old girl named Autumn and Hyden other wise known as Grandpa to me, first met me when I was 3. He taught me everything I know about horses. I don't have a grandpa in blood but I do in heart and that's him. I still ride and now have 2 horses all because of him. Tomorrow I am competing in the NBHA show and Hopper Ranch and I am dedicating my race to him. I love you so much Grandpa and you will always be in my heart.

Hayden Templeton (grandpa Templeton as he liked us kids to call him who worked for him) was the grandfather that I never had. He was a very special, great man to many people on this earth, including me. I will never meet another man like him, he taught me how to ride horses the right way. He gave me a job and a safe place to hang out at. 
    I'll never forget sitting at his kitchen table, eating chicken with him and Sidney. He took me to Justin Boots and bought me a nice pair of boots. I have never felt so cared for and welcomed in by anyone. He was the most amazing man I have ever know, he was a true cowboy. Rough and tough, but on the inside a sweet grandpa to all. His legacy will be carried out, I'm sure his family and friends will make sure of it. 
    To Sidney, I am exceptionally sorry (as well as everyone else's) for your loss. I know that you're young, and this must be hard for you. Just know that he loves you with all his heart, and he wants you to be a tough little cowgirl and not be sad. He's happy in heaven.

Hayden and I went all the way back to first grade and I am saddened by his death.  He worked with my husband as a fireman and we went to Church together.  I will never forget this wonderful man and I pray that God will comfort the family at this time as only He can.
