Born March 4, 1937, in Denton Texas, to Walter and Lois Winberry, he was shaped by a childhood filled with love and devotion. Hugh proudly served in the Army National Guard and developed a lifelong passion for military history. He was also an avid football fan, treasuring Sunday afternoons watching games with family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy; sons Gary Don and Steven (Joyce); and granddaughter, Nicole.
Hugh devoted his life to nurturing and providing for his family, always creating a loving and supporting home.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 26, from 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home in Arlington, followed by a funeral service at 3:30p.m. at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Fort Worth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Parkinson's Research Foundation in his memory.
