With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Hung Ngoc Dao, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who left us on July 16, 2026, at the age of 67.
Born on July 24, 1958, in Saigon, Vietnam, Hung lived a life defined by quiet strength, kindness, and deep devotion to his family. He was a loving husband to Lan Tran, and a proud and caring father to Ann Dao and Hieu Dao. His family was always at the center of his world, and he showed his love not only through words, but through everyday acts of care and selflessness.
Even during his courageous battle with cancer, his love never wavered. In the early mornings, he would still rise to make coffee for his wife, small gestures that spoke volumes about his enduring devotion, until his body no longer allowed him to do so.
One of his greatest joys in life was becoming a grandfather. He cherished his granddaughter, Charlotte, who was born at the end of January this year. He lovingly called her his “gold nugget” , “cục vàng” in Vietnamese , a reflection of how precious she was to him. She gave him renewed strength and purpose, and he fought so hard, holding on to every moment with her.
Hung will be remembered as a kind and gentle man whose love for his family knew no bounds. His presence brought comfort, his actions showed unwavering care, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016, on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 12:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M..
A Catholic Funeral Mass will take place at Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church, 801 E Mayfield Rd, Arlington, TX 76014, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 10:00 A.M.
He is deeply missed and forever loved.
