James Arthur Schubert

Born February 16, 1934 to James Ernest and Florence May Cheney Schubert at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He died on December 17, 2019, “A fulfilled Son, Husband, Brother, Father, Grand Father, and Great Grand Father”. Burial will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery on December 26, 2019 at 11:00am. James leaves this life with Great Hopes that our country will survive the grave perils ahead. “And may we return to the world of our ancestors”.

James is a graduate of Oaklawn Elementary School (1946), William James Junior High School (1949), Polytechnic High School (Class of 1952), Texas A&M College (Class of 1956) and Tarrant County Junior College (Class of 1976).

He graduated from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Science Degree - Industrial Technology and received a commission with The United States Air Force as 2nd Lieutenant.

After Graduation from A&M he was employed by Chance Vought Aircraft Company in Grand Prairie, before being called to active duty with the Air Force. He attended Officers Pre Flight at Lackland AFB, Texas ; Primary Flight Training at Hondo AB, Texas; and Basic Single Engine Jet Flight Training at Laredo AFB, Texas. Later he was stationed with SAC at Dow AFB, Maine, and Griffiss AFB, New York. James was Honorably Discharged from the Air Force with the rank of Captain.

After serving with the Air Force he returned to Chance Vought which now had become LTV Aerospace Corporation.

Survivors are his wife Linda Myrl Bateman Schubert of 49 years; Daughters, Cheryl Denise Schubert Sweet, Jeri Lyn Schubert Tindle, Sharon Renee Schubert, and a Son, Kevin James Schubert. Grand Children, Rachel Ann Sweet, Jeffrey Jordan Chase Wallace, Aaron Asa Tindle, Alexander Logan Schubert, Jacob Allen May, Taylor James Schubert, Vance Austin Schubert, Justin Michael Gonzales, Ashley Nicole Gonzales; Great Grand Daughter’s Salem Atlaia Sabatka-Sweet, Logan Elizabeth Schubert, Taytum Elizabeth Clark, and Great Grand Sons Cannon Lee Schubert, Carter Ryan Clark.
