2024 in Arlington, Texas. She was born on August 31, 1944 in Hilo, Hawaii to Hannah Grace and Edward
Kawaauhau. She loved her work in food service at public schools in Colorado and Hawaii and took great
pride in being a part of the kapuna program where she taught children about her beloved Hawaii and its
beautiful culture. She loved celebrating birthdays, dancing, talking story and sharing time with family
and friends. She lived her life to the fullest and knew no stranger. Although we mourn her loss, her
unwavering faith in God gives us comfort that we will see each other again. Preceded in death by
husband, Leslie Staadt, Sr. and siblings Hannah, Vickie, Antone and Edward. Kapuna Jane is survived by
brothers, Achie, Donald, Leroy and Lester; sisters Dona, Ellen and Debra; her children, Leslie Jr., Kay and
Kimo, and her eight mo’opunas. She will be greatly missed by all, including her many nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends.
