

John Hays, age 91, died on June 25, 2012 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mr. Hays was born in Laneville, Texas to the late Samuel Oscar Hays and Evie Riddle Hays. He is a retired truck driver for Stokley Van Camp in Griffin, Georgia as well as a WWII Army Air Corp veteran.
Mr. Hays was preceded in death by first wife, Katherine Taylor Hays, and second wife, Eloise Castellaw Hays; brothers: Thomas Hays of Spokane, WA, Ford Hays of Marshall, TX, Forrest Hays
of Laneville, TX; sisters: Eunice Lee Hensley of Laneville, TX, Ruth Porter of Magnolia, TX, and Jo Senofsky of Harlingen, TX.
He is survived by sisters: Beth Bowman of The Woodlands, TX, and Barbara Breen of Shreveport, LA. He is also survived by son, John J. Hays, Jr. (Cheryl) of Arlington, TX; grandson, John (Jim) J. Hays, III (Brandi) of Anacortes, WA; and granddaughter, Cheri Hays Nelson (Brian) of Arlington, TX. His great-grandchildren include James, Gabriel, and Andrew Hays of Anacortes, WA as well as Caleb, Luke, and Trinity Nelson of Arlington, TX.
Visitation for the family of Mr. Hays will be held on Thursday, July 5 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home in Arlington, TX with graveside service taking place on Friday, July 6 at 11:15 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery.
