John Steven Simonton Jr.

John Steven Simonton Jr., tragedly died Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. John was the loving husband of Suzy (Suzanna), dad to Stephanie Rector, Jay Simonton, Connor Simonton, Mary Bush, and Nathan Simonton. John will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered. John had such a big spirit. He had such a big personality with a smile the size of Texas. John was born June 2, 1971 to Steve and Melissa Simonton in Dallas, Texas. He was employed by G&K Services in Dallas, Texas. John graduated from Duncanville High School in 1989 earning a football scholarship to Rice University where he graduated with three Bachelor degrees. John loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman enjoying shooting, and hunting. He could often be seen admiring a beautiful sunset at the deer lease or spending countless hours working on one project after another. John’s greatest joy was his family. He showered his kids with constant love and affection. He was affectionately known as the human jungle gym, especially to his great-nephew, Hayden and great-niece, Emily. John was preceded in death by his father, John Steven Simonton, Sr. In addition to his immediately family, he is survived by his mother Melissa Hudman, her husband, Richard Hudman, brother Jason Simonton and his wife Julie, grandfather Roy Borders, and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014 at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Road, Arlington, Texas 76016, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the same location.
