Julian Lamar "Bart" Barton
Julian Lamar "Bart" Barton passed peacefully into God's embrace, March 11, 2023. He was born February 4, 1935, in Lockhart, Alabama to Marie and Oscar Barton, who preceded him in death. He married Dora Ann Blaschke on May 19, 1956. They have three children.
Bart grew up in Pensacola, Florida. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and trained as a radar technician. When the air force began using flight simulation for pilot training, he was chosen to cross-train into that field. He retired after 20 years of service in July 1972. He began a new career at the American Airlines Flight Acadamy in Ft. Worth. When American Airlines formed its training corporation offering contracts for pilot training to the military, he transferred to that corporation in a management position. He worked on the teams for various government contracts and finally on the C-17 Globemaster contract. He retired from Boeing Aerospace in November 1997. After retirement, he continued as needed as a consultant in contract writing.
He loved all types of sports. He played the position of catcher on base championship fast pitch softball teams. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer. For many years he played golf in the Retired Mens Golf Association at Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield. He loved the history, the stories of the greats of the game, the rules of the game and the fellowship of his fellow golfers. He beamed when seeing youth doing well in the sport. He and his wife, Ann, enjoyed cruising and other travels. Bart, with wife, called St. Peter and St. Paul Anglican Church in Arlington, Texas his church home.
Bart is survived by his wife, Ann, of Mansfield, daughter Karen Denson(John) of Little Elm, sons Dale Barton of Arlington, and Timothy Barton (Leslie) of Arlington, sister, Judith Still of Atlanta, GA, grandsons, J.
