Bobby was born September 25, 1950, to Frances and Kenneth Klahn in Davenport, Iowa. At 3 years old, he moved with his parents and two older sisters, Kathy and Karen to Abilene, TX. Growing up Bobby excelled in sports, especially football and baseball. He graduated from Abilene High School, then went on to play baseball at Hardin Simmons University. He worked for many years in the freight industry before working for The North Central Texas Council of Governments. He retired from there in February. In his free time, Bobby enjoyed officiating football for over 30 years. He also enjoyed woodworking and working in his yard.

To Bobby, family was everything. He was the ultimate girl dad and granddad. His girls were his world and he was their hero.
