

Leonard “Leo” Garza was born August 1, 1945, in George West, Texas, but was raised in Corpus Christi. He was a Vietnam Veteran that served 2 tours as a radioman. He also boxed while in the Navy. He worked for American Airlines for 37 years. He was a huge fan of sports, especially the University of Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ramon Garza and Catarina Rodrigues de Garza, and siblings, Andrew Garza (Emma Ybanez-Garza) and Ramon Garza.
Leo is survived by his soul mate of 52 years, Sylvia Trevino Garza; children, Oscar Leonel Garza, Tracy and Jennifer Champlain and Christy and Herman Jaime; seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Marcus Garza, Blayne, Ryan, Camyron Champlain, and Ashlin and Sophia Jaime; siblings, Lydia Garza Ramirez, Sulema Garza Hagerman, Elma Rodrigo, Danny and Rudy Garza; plus a host of nephews and nieces.
Leo will be so dearly missed by all his loved ones. He brought joy to the family with his wonderful sense of humor, his dancing and love of Tejano music.
We would like to say thank you to the staff of Methodist Hospital in Mansfield who took wonderful care of Leo.
Leo’s wishes were to be cremated with no funeral service, but a celebration.
A Celebration of Life for Leo will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016.
