Linda Yvonne Gregory Johnson

Born on January 21, 1944, in Dallas, Texas, Linda was the cherished only child of Delbert and Mary Gregory. She grew up in Dallas, where she attended South Oak Cliff High School. In 1974, she married Ronald Lee Johnson, also from Dallas, with whom she spent 42 years with before his death in 2016.

Linda spent 36 years as a loyal employee at Graybar Electric. Following her well-earned retirement, she poured her energy, time, and boundless love into what truly mattered most to her, her family. She spent her retirement years taking care of her grandchildren, creating enduring memories and anchoring her family with her warmth and care.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Mary Gregory; her husband, Ronald Lee Johnson; and her daughter, Pamela Meier.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her surviving children: Jeff Chapel and his wife Shirley, John Chapel and his wife Debbie, and Cindy Sawyer and her husband David.

She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her grandchildren: Kristen (Roy) Shackelford, Tiffanie Chapel, Brittany Chapel, Lindsey (Zakary) Stout, Jeffrey (Ashley) Chapel, Colleen (Joe) Manor, Casey Clark (Jordan) Schuetz, Abbey Clark, Ramsey Sawyer and Regan Sawyer; as well as her precious great-grandchildren: Micah Houston, Cody Youngblood, Giada Engle, Shylee Engle, Landon Engle, Emily Manor, Kenna Shackelford, Kenleigh Hofford, Jeffrey Lee Chapel, Brixton Stout, Beckham Stout, and Hudson Schuetz.

Linda’s unwavering commitment to her family, her quick wit, crazy expressions (affectionately known as mawmawisms) and meaningful sarcasm will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016, US, on September 24, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211, US, on September 25, 2026, at 10:00 am.
