Lisa Ellen Pantuso of Arlington, Texas passed away at home on Thursday, July 30, at the age of 58. She was born in Dallas on June 9, 1962; graduated from Sunset High School in 1980; and earned a B.S. in special education from Texas A&M University in 1984 and a M.Ed. in school counseling from Dallas Baptist University in 2007. She taught in the special education department at Martin High School for 21 years. A loving mother, she had three sons -- Phillip, Nicholas, and Patrick -- of whom everyone says she was very proud.

Lisa was known for her selflessness, her gentle spirit, and her bright smile. She never met a person she did not see the good in. She put others' needs before her own, and was quick to offer help to anyone in need, no matter what was going on in her life. Her generosity extended to the classroom, where in addition to her regular teaching role, she worked with teenage mothers and children with learning disabilities. She is remembered by her former colleagues as a tireless advocate for her students' success. At home, Lisa delighted in spending time with her boys, especially around the holidays, when all three of them would return to Arlington and the Hallmark Channel would run Christmas movies nonstop. She liked playing Bunco with her friends, talking for hours on the phone with her mom, watching cute animal videos, and adding to her collection of decorative crosses. She was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Community, a devoted dog mom and dog grandmother, and believed that everything happens for a reason. She is remembered by her sons as a source of love, compassion, warmth, advice, support, and encouragement.

Lisa was preceded in death by her brother, Gary, and her father, Charles. She is survived by her sons, Phillip, Nicholas, and Patrick, and daughter-in-law, Jessica; her mother, Maudeen, and brother, Randall; her ex-husband, Victor; her nieces, Vanessa, Jessica, and Aubrey; her aunt, Elizabeth; and cousins, other relatives, friends, and coworkers. A visitation and rosary will be held Wednesday, August 5 from 5-8 p.m. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Rd., Arlington. A funeral mass will be held Thursday, August 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Parish, 1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington. She will be interred at Waldrop Cemetery in Fairplay, Texas.

Lisa was practically my 2nd mom. She was always supportive of me and guided me with love when it was needed. I will always remember Lisa being in the stands cheering on the boys and me in the Martin Marching Band during football games and competitions. I will always remember how much she spoiled the dogs and us having to tell her "that's enough". She had a heart of gold that brought so much joy to anyone that she came across. I will forever remember her love, her kindness, her wisdom, her laugh and I will forever be able to hear her say "Hey Steph,". With brave wings, she flies.

Lisa and I have been fiends for over 40 years. We always laughed that it couldn’t possibly be that long.
I didn’t consider Lisa a friend , but a sister. She made me a better person. I miss her deeply. I thank our Lord and Savior that he brought her into my life.
My prayers are with her beautiful family that God’s love brings you comfort and peace.
Philip,Nico and Patrick. There was never a conversation that she didn’t talk about you and how proud she is of the men you have become.

Her willingness of helping other students like me, was one of her passion she had. Her smile, laughs, loves, and her bright Spirit always will be in my heart. Ms. Lisa Pantuso Thank you for the time we had together during my time in school. You are a warrior and still a warrior. Once a warrior, always a warrior. Much Love 🤟🏽❤️❤️

Dearest Lisa, in your selfless humble way you left us quietly. There is a huge void in many hearts at your departure from earth. Many in heaven are rejoicing at your arrival. My mother for one is happy to see you again as she was when you took the Eucharist to her at home when we were out of town. What a gift!!
We saw your little boys become men by your side and with your counsel. What a model mother you were for many. May God keep memories of you, your broad and ready smile, and your kind deeds alive in all of us who have loved and respected you. We cherish the memories.
Most lovingly, Gilda and Marc Evans

Almost 25 years ago, I did an exchange program in the US and I was lucky to stay at Lisa's home.
It was not as planned. It was supposed to be just a few weeks.
In the beginning, it was a very difficult moment for me, because I had lost my documents and I missed home and friends a lot.
But Lisa's loving look always made me feel better.
Always available to give a hug, those that warm your heart!
When she told me that she and Vic had decided that I would stay with them until the end of the program, I felt relieved and very happy, because I also didn't want to leave.
It was only a few months, but it was a very intense experience for me.
And whenever I remember that period, Lisa's wide smile and all the affection she exuded came to my mind.
My sincere condolence to the whole family and friends, especially to Phillip, Nico and Patrick.
If God called his daughter to live with him so early, it is because she has fulfilled her mission.
God bless you
Love you
Rodrigo

Lisa and I grew up together and attended the same schools from elementary through high school. She was my “lil sis” in drill team at Sunset. I am ever so proud to call her friend. A kind and gentle angel on earth, she will be deeply missed. I know her spirit will carry on and through all whom she has touched. My deepest sympathy.

My deepest sympathies to Lisa's family, to all who love her and worked with her and to my sister Lisa. I met Lisa though my sister Lisa and instantly loved her. I will always treasure Lisa's smile, laugh and her friendship to my sister and to all our family. I will always remember how much fun it was to have her at our family gathering and see the Lisas together. So sweet to see them together.
The world has not only lost a wonderful, caring and so kind lady, but a loving daughter, Mom and friend.
My deepest sympathy and prayers for all to be comforted by the memories you created with each other.

I have worked with Lisa at Martin for several years. She was very dedicated and really loved her students and working with them. I admired her creative solutions that she came up with to help teachers be successful in class.

I shall greatly miss her smiles.
