Madelene Faith Peterson

Madelene Faith Stolberg Peterson of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on May 31, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on October 18, 1939, in Woodbury County, Iowa, to Carl and Ethel (Carlson) Stolberg and grew up in Sioux City, Iowa.

After graduating from high school, Madelene attended the University of Minnesota for a few years before meeting and marrying Stanley Keith Peterson on March 25, 1961. They were married for 65 years and had two children: Steven Keith and Debra Ann.

They lived in Sioux City, Iowa, and St. Paul, Minnesota, until the family moved to Arlington, Texas, in 1977.

Madelene worked in the Arlington ISD as a teacher and in banking. She was actively involved in Advent Lutheran Church, where she served as president. She was also active on many committees in the 48 years she and Stan were members.

She is preceeded in death by her two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley Keith Peterson, their son, Steven Keith Peterson, and wife, Jill Stubblefield Peterson, their children, Nathan and Bethany, their daughter, Debra Ann Peterson Wright and her husband, James Wright, and their children, Nicole and Benjamin.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Advent Lutheran Church, 3232 S. Cooper St., Arlington, TX, 76015, on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at 5:00 PM.

No other public services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, we ask for memorials to be designated for the Advent Lutheran Church Memorial Fund in memory of Madelene Peterson.
