Marc Alan Easley, 72, of Springfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully after a long illness, which he faced with grace and strength. Born to Jim and Dru Easley in Springfield, Marc lived a life defined by faith, love, and adventure.
For 46 beautiful years, Marc was married to the love of his life, Charla. Together they shared a journey filled with laughter, faith, and countless memories. They were blessed with one son, Michael, who inherited his father’s adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors.
Marc built a long and respected career with IBM as a Support Specialist, where he was admired for his patience, kindness, and steady spirit. His calm presence and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who worked with him.
A devoted family man, Marc was a proud grandfather to Jeffrey James, Kinsley, Kayli, and sweet Ophelia Faye, who now welcomes him in Heaven after blessing the family for 43 days. He was also a loving and devoted uncle to Travis and Alison, whom he loved as his own children. His siblings—Jayne, Steven, and Greg—were a constant light in his life. Together, they shared a deep family bond and a spirit of adventure that began in childhood. One of their most cherished memories was a family road trip from Rochester, Minnesota, to Alaska—a journey filled with laughter, discovery, and togetherness.
Marc was an adventurer at heart. He loved spending time outdoors, taking scenic drives with Charla and Michael, and living life with joy and curiosity. A lifelong dream came true when, at age 50, he took part in a NASCAR driving class—a thrill that perfectly captured his zest for life.
His faithful Golden Retrievers—Pokey, Deuce, and Miso—were his loyal companions and constant comfort.
Above all, Marc’s life was rooted in faith, love, and devotion to family. He will be remembered for his gentle heart, steady faith, and joyful spirit. His favorite verse, 2 Timothy 4:7, beautifully reflects the way he lived:
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
A Memorial Service celebrating Marc’s life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 S. Bowen Rd, Arlington, TX 76016.
Marc’s family invites those who wish to honor his memory to make a donation to The Fisher House Foundation, an organization close to his heart, in lieu of flowers.
