Marjorie Diane Pederson known to many as Diane (70) was born on June 1st, 1956 and lost her hard-fought battle to endometrial cancer on July 4th, 2026.
Diane was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated from Western Hills High School in Fort Worth, where she met and later married her high school sweetheart, John Gregory Pederson on May 17th, 1980.
With a pioneering spirit and one of the first women to graduate UT Arlington with Mechanical Engineering degree, Diane worked as a Mechanical Engineer at TU electric (TXU Energy) for 20 years before changing careers. She then worked for the Arlington Independent School District as a cafeteria worker and as a special education aide for many years. She had a stubborn kind resilience through life’s challenges, and a remarkable ability to make others feel loved and welcomed.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her beloved husband, Greg Pederson, who passed away in 2021. Their love story was one of devotion, partnership, and enduring love of Disney. We find comfort in knowing they are together once again, especially on what would have been Greg’s 71st birthday.
One of her greatest joys was the magic of Disney; be it watching her favorite Disney movies, reminiscing about beloved characters, or creating magical memories with her family. She embraced the wonder, hope, and joy that Disney represents, often using it as inspiration in her many crafts, sewing projects and quilts. She believed in finding magic in everyday life and encouraged those around her to do the same.
Above all else, Diane, treasured her family. She leaves behind her brother Frank Dumboski Jr, two daughters, Dr. Katherine Pederson and Melanie Carpenter, son-in-law’s, Joyonto Mondal and Marcus Carpenter, her nieces and nephews, Doug Dumboski, Jennifer Miller, Andrew Dumboski, Phillip Miller, and Kari Dumboski, her grandchildren Aleksander, Ashok, and Aarya Mondal among countless other friends and family.
Though our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the countless memories she gave us—the family gatherings, shared laughter, traditions, and unconditional love that will remain with us forever. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, and in everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
She found her Happily Ever After.
Family encourages those attending her services to wear Disney shirts.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor her memory by donating to American Cancer Society. https://secure.acsevents.org/site/STR?fr_id=112944&pg=personal&px=61352727
