

Mary Dean Gray, 66, passed peacefully on March 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on September 14, 1959, in Coushatta, Louisiana, to O.C. Newton Sr. and Willie Mae Newton. After moving to California, she attended Utah Elementary School and later began a prosperous career with Robinsons May, where she faithfully served for over 20 years.
Mary eventually made her home in Arlington, Texas, where she built a life rooted deeply in love and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend—someone whose presence brought warmth, joy, and comfort to everyone blessed to know her.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory:
Her husband, Leonard Gray
Her children, Kamesha Perkins and Anthony Perkins Jr., along with their father, Anthony Perkins Sr.
Her beloved grandchildren: Amaya, Jaden, Jalen, Zaniya, Zariya, and Anthony III.
She is also survived by her siblings:
Curtis Gray Sr., Malcolm Gray, Jill Williams, Angie Gray, Annette Gay, Arthur Newton, Bettie Newton Brown, Karnita Newton, Dexter Newton, Tonnie Newton, Brenda Newton Hurd, Barbara Newton Whitley, O.C. Newton Jr., and Russell Newton, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
Mary was preceded in death by her siblings Edgar Newton, Ruby Newton, and Don Newton.
Mary’s legacy of love, strength, and devotion will continue to live on through her family and in the lives of all who were touched by her generosity and grace.
