Mary Yvette Sholars Williams

Mary Yvette Sholars-Williams, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at UT Southwestern on August 13, 2026. Born on October 3, 1969, in Fort Worth, Texas, Mary lived a life full of love, adventure, and generosity. Her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her.

Mary was a spirited and dedicated individual who graduated from Arlington Heights High School in 1988. She pursued higher education with a fervor, earning both a bachelor’s degree in business and an MBA from Midwestern University. Mary also served her country with honor as a member of the Army Reserve, embodying a profound sense of duty and patriotism.

Her professional journey led her to a successful career with the Federal Government, from which she retired in 2021. Not one to rest on her laurels, Mary embarked on a new adventure by opening her own restaurant in 2023, where her love for cooking and her entrepreneurial spirit flourished.

Those closest to Mary will remember her as a vibrant soul, always ready to dance and lighten the mood. Her gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued touched the lives of many, creating an atmosphere of warmth and joy wherever she went. An avid traveler, Mary embraced life with an open heart and an adventurous spirit, always eager to explore new horizons.

Mary was predeceased by her loving parents, Willie Mae Crayton Sholars and Hayward Brooks Sholars, and her brother, Hayward Bernard Sholars. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Reginald D. Williams, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage since March 11, 2017. Her legacy of love continues through her children, Ryan Fobbs (Sharnecia), Jordan Fobbs, Meaghan and Madison Williams, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Serinity and Ryland Fobbs, Oliver and Quinn Brown. Mary is also survived by her dear siblings, Dr. Angela Sholars King (Charles), Gregory Sholars (Camille), and Michael Sholars, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and treasured friends.

Mary’s remarkable life, we carry forward her legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, a testament to a life well-lived and a soul deeply loved.

Visitation will be held at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016, on August 21, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Funeral service to follow at 11:00 A.M.

A Committal Service will follow at Laurel Land - Rose Hill Memorial Park, 7301 E Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76112, on August 21, 2026, at 12:30 P.M.
