Michael Gerald Smith

Michael G. Smith passed away suddenly on July 25, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on November 10, 1964, in Hillsboro, Texas, Michael lived a life defined by love, hard work, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. Throughout his career, Michael dedicated himself to the gas pipeline industry, earning the respect of colleagues and friends through his integrity, dedication, and strong work ethic. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he found joy in playing golf, throwing darts, and cheering on his alma mater, The University of Texas. He especially treasured the time spent with those he loved.

Michael is survived by his daughter, KayCe Myers (Eddie), of Kennedale, TX; sons, Ethan Smith and Caleb Smith, of Arlington, TX; sister, Stacey Curtis, of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Chris Markel, of Fort Worth, TX; stepmother, Carolyn Smith, of Arlington, TX; step-sister, Terri Evans (Jon), of Arlington, TX; granddaughters, Xaniah and Luna; grandson, Jorge Michael; nephew, Shaun DeZern (Nicole), of Asheville, NC; nieces, Rachel Jones (Chase), of Corinth, TX, Megan Yardley (Bryce), of Fort Worth, TX, and Jordyn Markel, of Fort Worth, TX; numerous cousins and dedicated friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wendel Smith; mother, Carole Robertson Markel; and brother, Stephen Smith.

Those who knew Michael will remember his amazing qualities, such as his generosity, humor, wisdom, and compassion. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the memories his family and friends will cherish forever.

The services are as follows:

Visitation: Friday, August 7, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Rd., Arlington, TX.

Funeral Service: Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Rd., Arlington, TX, with burial occurring at Emerald Hills Cemetery, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, TX.

Michael will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
