September 20, 1962May 11, 2020

Michael Don Sherman left this world on May 11th, 2020 in Arlington, Texas. Mike was born on September 20th, 1962 to Don and Nell (Urban) Sherman in Jacksboro, Texas. Mike spent much of his teenage years in Cisco, Texas, and eventually graduated from Tarleton State University in 1985 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Geology. Later in the same year, Mike took on a position with the Texas Electric Service Company, which is now Oncor Electric Delivery. Mike worked with the company for 34 years, eventually becoming a Design Supervisor for the DeSoto Service Center. While with Oncor, Mike made many friendships with his colleagues, and took pride in the relationships that he crafted along the way. Mike was preceded in death by his mother Nell Sherman of Cisco, and is survived by his wife Lisa of Arlington, son Brent of Arlington and son and daughter-in-law Tyler and Mercedes of Venus, his two grandchildren Wyatt and Vivian of Venus, his father Don Sherman of Cisco, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Mary Kay of Burleson, his mother-in-law Barbara Brinkley of Eastland, and his brother-in-law Scott Brinkley of Stephenville, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Though there are tears, it warms my heart to read all of the beautiful comments about Michael. He was raised in a Christian home by loving , hard working parents. I never saw him, even in childhood, without a smile and warm greeting. Mike was a kind, loving, and genuine young man with a heart of gold. You are so loved, and we will never forget you. Rest In Peace ~

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. Mike and I worked together at Oncor as Design Supervisors for several years. We worked closely together when we went to New Orleans to help with the Hurricane Katrina effort. Mike was a great worker and a fine man who will be dearly missed. May his family be comforted and blessed during this most difficult time.

Mike will be sorely missed. He was a good man, a good friend, teacher, and mentor. He always had a funny story that made me laugh. He loved his family dearly and often spoke of how proud he was of Brent and Tyler.
May the Lord bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. I will be praying for you.

I first met Mike when he came downtown to work on a project with me. I was new to the company and he was very patient with me and really helped me understand what I needed to. Every time I ever seen him, he had a smile on his face and a warm welcome. He will be missed. To the family, my heart hurts for you. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. I pray that your memories of him will sustain you during these dark days and hours.

I worked for a time with Mike in Grand Prairie. He was a fine man and colleague. He was available to assist at any time. He was a servant. When I transferred to Dallas, he made a special trip to Dallas to assist me and others on a project that he was not involved in. He made himself available and made a difference.

May God provide comfort to Mike's family and friends.

This is a sad day. I was an old TESCO Boy along with Mike. I had the pleasure of not only working with Mike, I worked for Mike as a Utility Designer in the De Soto District. I considered Mike a friend. Prayers are with the Sherman family and may the peace and comfort of God be with you.

Prayers and comfort for the Sherman family during this time. I had the opportunity to work a few storms with Mike and he was always willing to help when needed. I know he will be missed by many.
