Nigel Denis Crouch, age 72, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on July 24, 2026.
He was born on March 16, 1954 in Bath, England to Philip Godfrey Osborne Crouch and June Hilda Crouch nee King.
Since Nigel’s father was in the Royal Air Force, his family lived in several countries for his primary and secondary school education, including France, the UK, and Singapore. He graduated from Aston University in Birmingham, England in 1976 with a BSc degree in mathematics and statistics.
Nigel worked as an avionics engineer for 30 years, initially for Marconi Avionics as a radar engineer on the AEW3 Nimrod, and then mostly for the Raytheon Corporation, in the UK, Baltimore, and the DFW area, retiring in 2006 in Arlington, Texas.
Nigel met the love of his life Theresa Marie Vogel in January 1990 on a Baltimore Ski Club trip to Greek Peak, New York. They married in Towson, Maryland on March 24,1991 and moved to a suburb of London, Welwyn Garden City, where they lived during the 1990s, becoming active in various binational organizations like the American Society in London and the Anglo-American Medical Society. They spent 35 years together, much of it traveling for both work and vacation, including the US and Europe and other far-flung locations like Cyprus, Tunisia, Israel, Jordan, Mauritius, and Singapore. During their time in London, they skied almost every year in the French Alps.
In retirement, Nigel enjoyed home renovation, remodeling cars, playing golf, skiing more locally in the Rockies, and lots of travel with his wife who engaged in locum tenens work as a physician. They also traveled with several of the friends they developed at Pantego Bible Church (now Central Bible Church) including Randy Frazee and Tom Bulick.
Nigel and Theresa have always enjoyed classical music in particular, because of musical backgrounds from their parents, but Nigel also loved the Beatles and could sing the words to almost all their songs. Living in Texas has recently also given Nigel the beginning of appreciation for country western music too.
Nigel is survived by his wife Theresa Vogel Crouch, his brothers Anthony Crouch (Laura), Nicholas Crouch (Kathy), Andrew Crouch (Sheila) and Peter Crouch, along with brother-in-law Frank Vogel (Susan), and sisters-in-law Martina Taylor (Keene), Cecilia Armbruster (Carl), Diana Vogel, and Margaret Kuhn. Also 15 nieces and nephews on both sides of the Atlantic and 12 grandnieces and grandnephews.
