She was born on January 3, 1934, in Villa Corona, Jalisco, Mexico, the daughter of Pedro Ruiz and Elvira Langarica.
Ofelia and her family are members of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Arlington. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a beloved grandmother. She lived her life as a dedicated homemaker who used her creative talents in the upkeep of her home and family. She was an extremely gifted seamstress, knitter, crocheter as well as an excellent cook. Alzheimer’s disease robbed the family from enjoying her usually active mind and quick wit for which she will be remembered.

Ofelia was preceded in death by her husband of over 67 years, Jesus, her parents, and sister, Maria del Refugio Ruiz.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church. A rosary will precede the Mass at 10:30 a.m. as the beginning of a Rosary Novena continuing daily at the family home at 8:00 p.m. and ending on April 2nd. A private family internment will follow the funeral mass at Moore Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the James L. West Center for Dementia Care (located in Fort Worth). The family appreciates the loving care Ofelia, “Ofi”, received while a resident of the center.
