Texas passed away at Senior Care of Green Oaks in Arlington on September 19, 2020 .
Peggy was born on September 15, 1936 in Dallas, Texas to Oliver Clyde and Susie (Darr)
Reames. Peggy grew up and spent most of her adult life in Forney.
Peggy married the love of her life, Hoyt D. Banister on June 7, 1956. The couple lived most of
their lives together in Forney, where they raised four children; Danny, Douglas, Sally, and
Timothy. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Hoyt, and by her
daughter Sally.
Peggy was a devoted and loving mother, always caring more for others than for herself. She was
very proud of her family and was excited to become a "Nana" to her 9 grandchildren and 6
great-grandchildren. Peggy loved holidays and family get-togethers; any chance to spend time
with her family was important to her. She would spend hours cooking and preparing for her
company.
Peggy was known for her quick wit and could often be seen watching Jeopardy and answering
the questions faster than the contestants or relaxing in her favorite chair solving crossword
puzzles with an ink pen. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Peggy was the beloved wife of the late Hoyt D. Banister, devoted mother of Danny Banister (&
Laura) of Howe, TX, Doug Banister (& Jennifer) of Arlington, TX, the late Sally Banister Zmolek of Forney, and Tim Banister of Arlington, TX; loving "Nana" of her grandchildren: Shannon (O’Sullivan) Kasprzyk (& Jeff), Mary (O’Sullivan) Lahmers (& Josh), Rachel O’Sullivan, James O’Sullivan, Andrew Banister, Garrett Banister, Matthew Banister, Kaylee Banister, and Ryan Banister; and of her great-grandchildren: Audrey Kasprzyk, Jeffrey Kasprzyk, Matthew Kasprzyk, James Kasprzyk, Elijah Willoughby, and Grace Kennedy Todd.
