Richard Gregory Burfiend

Rick was born on April 02, 1943 to Phillip G. and Catherine J. Burfiend in Los Angeles, CA. He grew up in Alhambra, just outside LA, and graduated from San Gabriel Mission High School on June 12, 1961. When he was 16 he received his certificate for the Knights of the Altar on June 9, 1957 for being an altar boy, at the Catholic Church his family attended. The following year he would receive his letterman’s jacket for Bee Track in 1958, once he graduated he went into the Airforce. The Airforce stationed, Rick in several places such as Bitburg Air Base, Germany, McConnell Air Base in Wichita, KS, and Lowry Airforce Base in Denver, CO. He completed 8 years in the service.

Rick’s work life also had him travel a lot with companies like Cambridge Memory’s, Control Data, Bell Atlantic, and Fujitsu handling accounts such as Dr. Pepper, ACS, E.D.S, TVA, ExxonMobil, and Lockheed Martin. He always ended back in the DFW area where he retired.

Rick is survived by wife and soul mate Susan Burfiend of Arlington, TX, son Greg Burfiend of Saint Jo, TX, daughter Brenda Burfiend and grandson Austin Burfiend of Wylie, TX, Step-daughter & son-n-law Lisa and Daniel McEnturff and grandson Harrison McEnturff of Mansfield, TX, his brother & sister-in-law John and Laverne Burfiend of West Covina, CA and their daughter’s Dr. Kimberly Burfiend of San Francisco, CA & Tara Burfiend of Atlanta, GA.
