Dick was born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa. He served in the Army Reserves 1964-1970. His family and him moved to Texas in 1982. He was in the banking business and then did financial consulting.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Norma, daughter Susan Harper, son-in-law James, and grandson Justin.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Reel Recovery.org .

Dick was a cancer survivor who enjoyed the retreat that the Reel Recovery program provided for male cancer victims.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday March 16th at 2pm at Moore Bowen Road funeral home.
