Robert W. Hopkins

Robert W. Hopkins passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, at the age of 73. Funeral: 2 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home, 1219 N. Davis Drive.

Robert was born Oct. 22, 1942, the second of Hilton and Martha Hopkins. He grew up in Cleburne with his older brother, Hilton Jr. Robert has a passion for music, especially playing the piano. He also enjoyed calligraphy and his Corvette. In 1967 he married Eleanor Von Butts and was blessed with three children and spent 27 years of wedded bliss before her passing in 1994. Robert retired from J&M Steel Co., having been in the industry with over 50 years' experience. In 2007 Gerti Darius came into his life. They traveled the world and experienced life together; she preceded him in death in 2015.

Those preceding him in death were his parents; wife; and fiancée.

Survivors: Children, Cindy, Kerry and Kim; grandchildren, Alicia, Casey and Cody. Robert will be remembered as a devoted son, loving father and a optimistic soul. He will be missed by many!
