Ronnie Lee Gunter, age 64 of Arlington, passed away on January 2, 2019 with his family at his side. He was born on September 28, 1954 in Fort Worth, the son of Roy Gunter and Ruby Morris Gunter. Ronnie married Sharon Smithhart on July 25, 1975 and have celebrated 43 years of marriage together. They have two wonderful sons, Clay and Matt, who make them very proud.
Ronnie currently worked for Broward Factory Service and previously worked for Basic Components Inc. and was a member of Worth Baptist Church. Ronnie enjoyed watching sports, visiting the family farm, traveling, antiquing, and was a collector of many things. Ronnie’s wife and family were his pride and joy and the forefront of everything he did. Family and friends will always remember Ronnie’s smile and laughter, and being there whenever they needed him.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Sharon; children Clay Gunter, Matt Gunter and wife Kelley, and his sister Linda Mowery, granddaughter Cate Gunter, father in law J. T. Smithhart, sister in law Glenda Clausen and her husband Byron, brother in law Doug Smithhart and his wife Kathy, sister in law Carol Smithhart; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Ronnie is preceded in death by his father, Roy Gunter, mother, Ruby Gunter and his brother Terry Gunter.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 5 from 6:00-8:00pm at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Sunday, January 6 at 3:30pm, also at the funeral home. A graveside service will be performed at Wallace Creek Cemetery in San Saba Texas in the coming days. Memorial donations in memory of Ronnie may be made to your charitable organization of choice in lieu of flowers.
