Ruby Moreno Rios

August 21, 1945 – October 29, 2025

Surrounded by her loving family, Ruby Moreno Rios, 80, peacefully passed away on October 29, 2025.

Ruby was born on August 21, 1945 in Frio County, Texas to Jesus Sr. and Beatrice Benavidez Moreno. After graduating from Dilley High School, she spent a couple of years with family in Chicago, Illinois. She returned to Dilley where she married long-time love David Rios of Pearsall, Texas on December 30, 1967. Her goal in life was to support and nurture her family – and she did just that. Homemade tortillas, beans, and cakes were her trademark and her delicious (and gigantic) Thanksgiving feast was unmatched by any other. After feeding her family, her second favorite hobby was watching – and talking about – novellas. She also loved a good sale!

Ruby is survived and missed by her adoring husband of almost 58 years, David; daughter Janelle, her husband Richard; son Frankie, his wife Kristen; grandchildren Spencer and his wife Virginia, Madison, and Parker; great grandchildren Shelby, Sydney, and Spencer “SJ”; siblings, Jose Eliberto “Boy”, Jose Luis “Coty”, Juanita, Marivel, and Trinidad “Pipo”; and many loving nieces, nephews and long-time friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Mary, Marcella, Armando, Jesus Jr., Porfirio “Pilo”, and David.

Her memory lives on in those who continue to love her.

A visitation for Ruby will be held Monday, November 3, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Moore Bowen Road Funeral Home, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A funeral service will occur Monday, November 3, 2025 at 2:00 PM, 4216 South Bowen Road, Arlington, TX 76016. A catered reception will occur Monday, November 3, 2025 at 3:00 PM, 4216 S. Bowen Rd., Arlington, Texas 76016.
