He grew up in Arlington, Texas and attended Key Elementary, Gunn Junior High, and Arlington High School, where he was a member of the orchestra and active in the school theater productions.
He earned his Associate degree from Tarrant County College and a Bachelor of Arts in English from U.T. Arlington.
He is preceded in death by his father, Steven L. Knight; his maternal grandparents, Jessie Jewel (Ater) Sessums and Ernest Alexander Sessums; and his paternal grandparents, Dixie (Moore) Knight and Dr. L.R. Knight.
He is survived by his mother, Jeanette Knight; his sisters, Jacqueline Knight and Dixie Knight Gaona and her husband Christian; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Lake Country Church in Lake Worth, where he worshipped, enjoyed fellowship, and played guitar.
