In his youth, Terry attended SS Dillow Elementary and William James Junior High before graduating from Polytechnic Senior High School in 1976 where he excelled in track and field and as a star running back for the varsity football team.
Terry dedicated 38 years to the Texas Education System, touching lives in Fort Worth, Houston and Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISDs. In August of 2024, he retired where he served as Lead Custodial at Oakwood Terrace Elementary. Terry invested deeply in the lives of those he encountered, leaving a lasting impact on the community around him. He was beloved by students, teachers, administrators and staff.
On July 1, 2012, Terry re-dedicated his life to the Lord through Baptism at Glory Church, where he faithfully served as an Usher and provided Security for many years.
Through a beautiful 20-year union with the love of his life, Evelyn, Terry gained two sons and nine grandchildren. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family—whether at birthday parties, BBQs, family game nights, or cheering at countless sporting events.
Terry’s memory will be cherished by his loving partner, Evelyn Carr; his children, Brent Carr (Ashlee) and Blake Carr (Mary Louise); his brother Bruce Caldwell (Felicia); his brother Chester III “Trey” Caldwell (Shawnda); his sister-in-law April Caldwell; and his grandchildren Justize, Jaelyn, Olivia, Kali, Hendrix, Zane, Kash, Mila, and Avaleigh, along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Caldwell Jr.; his mother, Geneva Caldwell; his brother, Richard Caldwell; and his sister, Linda Caldwell.
Although we mourn, we take comfort knowing we will see him again.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family via Zelle, Venmo, or Cash App.
